Hi all,
My name is Jim Rybar. I recently ran across this site from an old post of Higgi's on the rx7club.com forum where I've been a member for several years.
I'm an old guy. Bought my first RX7 back in 1981 shortly after getting out of college. I now own a red 1993 (Series 6) R1 that I maintain myself and autocross occasionally.
I'm also a proud ethnic Czech. I'm not sure about the spelling, but my Grandmother grew up in a town called Kladno and my Grandfather in a town called Rozdelvr. When I was really young, I could understand a little Czech from being around them and all their friends. Unfortunately that is all forgotten now. I'm looking forward to traveling to the Czech Republic within the next couple of years. See the sites and visit where my grandparents grew up. Who knows...maybe even meet a distant relative with an RX7.
I really enjoyed your gallery. Here is a couple of bad pictures of my car. It has a few modifications, but still might be boring to all you young guys. Oh well, it's fast enough for me and I'm still proud of it.
Take care. Jim

Thanks hIGGI. You never know.
I live in the mid-west here in the States. Alot of farm land and not alot of tourist interest. But if you or anyone in your club ever make it this way...you do the same.
And wow...that was a nasty wreck you had a few years ago in that FC. Glad you were alright. zůstat dobře, Jim

There are not so many nice FDs here in Cz, we are mostly dealing with FCs because it is much less expensive... so your car definitely does not look boring to us :-)

Thanks Martyn. There are not alot of FDs where I live either. Mostly FCs, but not alot of TII like yours either. I almost bought a TII several years ago, but my kids were young and my wife talked me out of it. Someday I'd love to get one of those too.
If you have any pictures of yours, post them up. Love to see it in detail. Take care. Jim

Actually, my current S5 TII does not look especially good... I did not invest in the car much this time and it has already some minor circuit crashes behind, plus it does not have S5 tail lights any more. But it drives smoothly, it is stock car, only with Torsen from Fd and some minor exhaust & intake tuning. It would need harder suspension and new brakes, however. One interesting picture is here for example:

I have owned a black S4 that look damned good... and then an S5 TII Cabrio, very interesting as well... I know that Turbo cabrio are not common in the US. You can meet both new owners on the forum as well (MarkKiss and Lukaaash), we meet from time to time:

The best FD in club (one of two that are in driving condition as far as I know, old picture):

Wow, I don't think there were ANY TII cabriolets sold in the U.S. The only one I've ever seen was originally a standard Cabriolet that was converted by the owner. VERY cool.
Very nice cars. Are the graphics on the back of your black TII stock? They look alot different than ours....I like yours better. Also is the FD a R1 or Base model? I like the look of the front spoiler/lip painted body color. Nice photography too. I can't take a decent picture.
-
Hi that FD is no more stock looking car

Now it´s getting new paint, but I´m not sure what color.
Here is my FC

It has some minor mods like coilovers, poly bushes, street portet 6port engine,...body work will be next 8)

Nice FC there Speedy. You guys all seem to have an eye for good photos. Mmmmm, color? I'd vote for a dark blue on that. The interior color should go with it nicely too. ;)
Are parts and accessories hard to get there in the Czech Republic? I like that flush headlight kit on the FD alot.
-
Hello, Im Dominik, and there in czech republic is some SA too. That is mine :) I bought it three mounts ago,and Iam very happy owner.(Sorry for bad english:) )
-
Signal 2: it´s not hard to get parts here in Czech republic, if you can buy something from US or Japan, but it cost a lot more then in US, thats why we are using more FC´s than FD´s. And rx7 are a lot more expensive in Europe within England than in US.

Dominik, no appologies needed. Your English is just fine....ALOT better than my Czech. ;)
Nice FB too. Guessing an 82 or 83... GSL-SE maybe? Does that have a fuel injected 13b? Fun car.

Well, the FDs are still pretty expensive here too.
Is the falling value of the dollar helping you guys at all? Or is it making it worse?
-
Signal2: black FC is no more mine :-(. The paint has been done by the previous owner, as well as the silver graphics on it.. and the black / silver looks really good (when clean ;-)).
The dolar is going up again these days... which is good for the country export and bad for buying stuff from the states, obviously. But I have managed to buy the new camera just in time :-)).
For the color... you mean Mazda navy blue :-)? This is one of my favourite colors as well, elegant rather then sporty.
-
to Signal 2: My car is 81 with 12a engine(carburetter) and it is not a GSL,its ,,normal,, FB :-D(I think) Car just for weekend trips.

Yes, exactly. That would look really nice.

Hey, I had the SAME car! ;D As mentioned in my first post, my first RX7 was a new 1981. It was a red 'S' model (base model) with a carbureted 12A. And yeah I know...I'm old. ;)
I loved that car. It still performed better than the Datsun (Nissan) 280ZXs or even the Porsche 924s of the day. It's also what made me a fan of RX7s...even after all these years.
Your picture fooled me because I think your wheels were only available on the GSL-SE (13b FI) models here in the States. Nice car anyway.
-
to Signal 2: and I´m very young, that car is older than me..I'm 1989 :-D And i never can compare Datsun 280zx Porshe 924 and rx-7fb :( And my wheels are from Fc or GSL but i dont buy them.by the way thank you for compliment.. Your car looks good too.
-
Great talking with you guys.
Keep up the great cars. I'll be watching for RX7s when I visit...hopefully in the next year or two.
-
Also to hIGGI or anyone.....if you ever produce a T-shirt or Hat with the Czech RX7 Club logo, I'd be interested in buying one or two. ;D Just let me know.
-
We are planning to reprint our logo stickers for about a year.. :-)

Thanks for letting me know Martyn. I'd like to buy a few. Where would I watch for these to go on sale? And does anyone take Paypal? Jim
-
hIGGI is organising this... but it takes a long time, so no telling if he will make it this year :-D.
-
Hello all,
I haven't been here for a while. Hope everyone is doing well and surviving winter.
Sorry for bumping this old thread, but was still interested in buying a sticker from the Czech RX7 Club. Does anyone know if hIGGI ever made these...and if so, are there any available to buy?
-
I will have to look if there are any left (or ask friends if we can produce some more :) Will let u know.

Thanks hIGGI. I'll be checking back. Haven't seen you on rx7club for a while. Glad you're still involved.
-
Hi,
I still have about 6-8 stickers at home :D
-
I found only one so far..
-
How much sent to the U.S. ? And do you have a Paypal Account?
-
How many do you want ?
Yes I have PayPal.
I just check shipping via Royal Mail Tracked and Signed 5-7 days £8.70 this is about 12.70 USD
-
Figured it would be a little expensive. But ok Mark. Just need your PayPal address.
-
Cheapest is around £2-£3 but RoyalMail says up to 42 days
-
I'm not in a hurry, and you are a long time member so I trust you're judgement. If postage is going to be a little expensive, how much for 2 stickers?
-
We paid 50CZK each so 100CZK +- 4.2USD total +- 17USD
I can send it Monday 15.2 to you (I am out of UK now)
-
Sounds good Markiss. Sorry for the delay in responding, I have been out of my country too. Do you have a PayPal address that I can send the money too?
-
You have all in PM,
my paypal is marek@kubacak.cz
-
I tried to send the money Markiss but my U.S. Paypal doesn't recognize your address and won't let me. I appreciate you checking on the prices and offering to send them. Maybe I should just wait until I travel to the Czech Rep....hopefully in a year or two.
Thanks again. Jim
-
paypal is registered in UK :D Send me your paypal email I will send you request
